In a Medieval kingdom ruled by an iron fisted king, there lives twenty-three-old Ryan Bennett and his sister, Ara. Since their parents died and their older brother, Axel, left, Ryan has been looking after his sister. For the last seven years it's just been the two of them and they're struggling to get by. Ryan resorts to stealing food and money just so he and Ara can survive. One day while trying to steal money from the king, Ryan is caught by the captain of the royal guard, Adam. To their surprise, they find themselves attracted to each other and it isn't long until they fall in love.
Ryan wants to be with Adam, but if anyone finds out about their relationship, they will be burned at the stake. Ryan is afraid of what would happen to Ara if he was killed and there was no one to look after her. When the king catches Ryan and Adam together, they go on the run for their lives. What will they sacrifice for each other? Will it be worth it?
Now it's up to Ara and Adam' sister, Everill, to help them. This time Ara has to protect her brother.
Meanwhile, the youngest princess, Letty, befriends a former pirate and dreams of one day running away to live a life of freedom on the sea. Letty makes a deal with Seth to pay for his wedding if he helps her escape. But Seth has a connection to Ryan and Ara and when he learns the news of what has happened, their plans are derailed.
With everyone living in fear of the king, can they find the strength to fight for what they want? Or will they be forced to give up their own lives to save someone else?
